WebFFXIV has a very unique interaction with mechanics: The damage of the mechanic is determined when the cast bar for the enemy ends, not during the animation. This means that you can move away from an enemy casting an AoE, and as soon as that cast bar ends, you can move back in. It will look like the animation hit you, but you won't take damage. WebYou should be dodging AoEs. The only potential reason to not do so is the help your DPS' positionals, which are irrelevant in a big trash pull where they're just going to AoE. You should, however, watch how you dodge. Dont' just keep dodging backwards, for example, because it's going to keep moving all the enemies and de-cluster them.
